About the USS Indianapolis Commissioning Committee, Inc.

To provide organization and financial support throughout the construction and commissioning of the USS INDIANAPOLIS and its crew.
To Develop and execute a fundraising strategy that will permit the following.
  • Identify and collect funding sources to provide for the Commissioning of the USS INDIANAPOLIS.
  • Grow a relationship between the crew of the USS INDIANAPOLIS and the city of Indianapolis.
In pursuit of this mission, the USS INDIANAPOLIS Commissioning Committee will uphold the values of the United States Navy and that of the city of Indianapolis.
  • For the Commissioning of the USS INDIANAPOLIS: The Commissioning Committee will provide the financial means to conduct the appropriate commissioning of the USS INDIANAPOLIS.
  • To the crew of the USS INDIANAPOLIS: The Commissioning Committee will work to develop a relationship between the crew and the city of Indianapolis.
  • To the Donors: The Commissioning Committee will provide clear statements of visions and goals, be accountable to the donors’ trust and expectations, and to provide recognition of their support.
The USS INDIANAPOLIS Commissioning Committee was incorporated in 2014 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. It is a charity registered with the Internal Revenue Service and the Indiana Secretary of State. The USS INDIANAPOLIS Commissioning Committee is not affiliated with any Federal or State Agency and is a separate legal entity operating under its own auspices.
